Hi! This is Tanya Stimpson with this week’s crop insurance update. This week’s topic is Spring Base Price and Production Reports and brought to you by The Sewell Agency in Chillicothe.
Feb 1 was the starting time on keeping track of spring prices for Corn & Soybeans. For Soybeans they use the Feb Average of the November Futures and For Corn They use the Feb Average of the December Futures. At the end of Feb first of March they will release to us what our Spring Base price for Corn and soybeans will be. Then you have until March 15th to sign up for a new policy or change an existing Policy.
Before all of this spring excitement hits, your agents need your 2007 Corn and soybean production history turned in so they can give you accurate quotes for your 2008 insurance. So call or come by today to turn those productions in.
