This is Tanya Stimpson with this weeks crop insurance updated brought to you by the Sewell Agency in Chillicothe and ASI Insurance.
Are you ready for the 2010 Crop year for wheat? It is time to inform your insurance agent and sign up for 2010 Wheat coverage. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, September 30th.
The RA Wheat price Guarantee came in at $5.42 off the Kansas City Board of Trade, and the CRC Wheat price Guarantee came in at $5.29 off the Chicago Board of Trade. Both of these products are virtually the same except where the price is established off of. These 2 products have yield and price protection. If you would have a loss before harvest, than they would pay you off the base price established. Then at harvest time they set the harvest price from the Board of trade and if the price is higher than base then they will pay you the higher of the 2 on any yield loss. If the harvest price is lower than the base price then, you could get paid for price loss depending on your harvested yield and your guarantee. You need to check with your agent on which product would be best for you.
Again Deadline to sign up for wheat coverage or to change any coverage’s you currently have is Wednesday Sept 30th.
If you have any questions or if we can help you with your crop insurance needs call 800 281 4020 your connection to crop protection.

Wheat Sales Closing
This is Tanya Stimpson with this weeks crop insurance updated brought to you by the Sewell Agency in Chillicothe and ASI Insurance.
Wheat signup is coming near. You have until September 30th to sign up for wheat coverage. This is also the time to make any changes to your current Wheat insurance policies. The base price on wheat for CRC is running at $5.29 and the RA is at $5.42. The CRC and RA policies allow coverage on yield and price. First off if you have a low yield your claim would be paid on the base price of your policy which is the 5.29 or the 5.42 amount. Then at harvest time they run an average off of the Board of Trade and if it comes in higher than the lower than the base amount then the insurance will pick up the difference. Reminder the Base and Harvest Price is averaged off of the Board of Trade.
If you are signed up with any programs down at FSA you might visit with them on what all you need insured they do have programs that you are required to insure all of your crops.
During signup, take time to check over your policy information. Look at your policy type, spelling of your name, SS# and if your spouse is on the policy correctly. If you see any errors work with your agent to get them changed. Again you have until September 30th to change or sign up for the 2010 Wheat Insurance coverage’s.

This is Lonnie Sewell with this weeks crop insurance updated brought to you by the Sewell Agency in Chillicothe and ASI Crop Hail Insurance.
The recent stormy weather reminds us of what can happen be sure you have your crop hail insurance in place. As little as ½ bushel of your crop can provide $100’s of dollars of coverage per acre.
On the crop insurance side:
Corn can be planted until June 5th without any yield guarantee reduction. Soybeans until June 20th. Don’t forget if you have to replant call your agent first let him register your claim.
The weather out look is favorable for the coming weeks and maybe we will finally get in the fields.
Farmers have a lot to do and the weather has shortened the time we have to do it. If you are following a tractor or meeting one on the road, be patient most all farmers will let you pass just as soon as it is safe. They don’t like holding up traffic either.

Hi! This is Tanya Stimpson with this week’s crop insurance update. This week’s topic is Crop Hail insurance and Replant, brought to you by AgriServe Crop Hail Insurance and the Sewell Agency in Chillicothe.
We had a few dry days last week and you were hard at work putting in your crops before the rain started again. Now that you do have some corn in the ground and others of you have some good looking wheat, let us help you protect it from the hail with Hail Insurance. $100 coverage per acre would cost around $2.
Also want to remind you that if you see some spots out in your fields that will need to be replanted you need to contact your agent first. The adjuster must be in contact with you before replant is done or there could be some void in replant payments. Contact your agent for more information on this.
Phone the Sewell Agency at 660-646-4020 your connection to crop protection.

Hail Insurance
Hi! This is Tanya Stimpson with this week’s crop insurance update. This week’s topic is Wheat Hail Insurance and watching for your 2009 spring crop Declaration pages and brought to you by AgriServe Crop Hail Insurance and the Sewell Agency in Chillicothe.
Spring is coming and with that comes storms that can carry damaging Hail. Your multi peril insurance covers hail damage but you have a rather large deductible. For example if you bought 70% coverage on crop insurance the top 30%, which is usually the profit, is not covered. Or you could have a large loss in one or two fields in a Unit and because of averaging your production not be eligible for a loss. Crop hail insurance is simple; if you have hail damage you get paid. Also other coverage’s come with this policy such as fire, some wind and grain in on farm storage. Hail Insurance on Wheat costs about $1.50 per $100 coverage.
Sign up for spring crops is finished up for 2009, You should be receiving in the mail some dec pages that show what coverage’s you chose to carry and your personal information as well. Please take time and look over these forms to catch any errors now so we can get them fixed before the season starts. If it gets to late we might not be able to fix them.

March Crop Insurance Update
Hi, this is Lonnie Sewell with this week’s crop insurance update, brought to you by the Sewell Agency in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Well, I hope you checked with your agent and have your crop insurance lined up for this year. If you did not or did nothing, you will have the same coverage you had in 2008 - which may be the exact thing you would have done if you had reviewed your coverage. Most of our farmers stayed with the Revenue Coverage and several went up a level, due to the lower crop prices.
A few went with the highly subsidized Enterprise Unit this year, which is a sizeable discount for combining all of your optional and basic units together. The RMA gives this discount because it greatly reduces the risk of paying a loss.
Remember, if you are bringing new ground into production this year, a Request to Insure must be filed, unless it was CRP. That means, any hay and pasture land to be farmed.
This update was brought to you by the Sewell Agency in Chillicothe. Insuring crops all over North Central Missouri.
For more information, phone 660-646-4020.

BE & 2009 Pricing
Hi! This is Tanya Stimpson with this week’s crop insurance update. This week’s topic is Biotech Endorsement and 2009 RA pricing and brought to you by the Sewell Agency in Chillicothe.
The new Biotech Endorsement for MO is allowing a discount on your corn premium if you use the Stated Hybrid seed. You have to plant at least 75% of your unit to this seed and replant has to be Hybrid seed. There will be spot checks on random policies for the proof to receive the discount. And this endorsement is not available for Ground that is located in the high risk areas.
February is here and corn and bean prices are on the watch. As of Friday morning RA corn was $.4.13 and Soybean were $9.19. Prices will run until the end of February and if you are watching the markets they have been very unsteady, so no one knows where they will land. Just a reminder on RA What ever the average price is at the end of February will be the price you are guaranteed on your insurance policy all year. Then in the fall there will be a harvest price set and if it is higher then anyone that had a loss during the year will receive the difference between the two prices and if it is lower then everyone has a chance of receiving the difference depending on your guarantee. Visit with your agent to get the full explanation or give me a call.
