This is Lonnie Sewell with a special crop insurance news flash. The RMA (Risk Management Agency) has just released a bulletin saying the Crop Insurance reporting date has also been moved back to August 15th. This is great news for all of us. Now we will have more time to make decisions about prevent plant and have time for the FSA to certify our acres before making our acreage report. Remember, no other dates have changed. If you are filing prevent plant corn, you must turn in a notice of loss no later than June 30th and for soybeans it's July 15th. No late filed claims will be paid. Also, if you have any kind of a loss, even a replant, they cannot be processed until you have completed your acreage report.
