Week 8 Reporting different crop practices

Hi! This is Lonnie Sewell with this week’s crop insurance update brought to you by AgriServe Crop Hail Insurance and the Sewell Agency of Chillicothe.
Lots going on this week with the bean prices up and for the most part good soil moisture. Lots of double crop beans will go in following Wheat.
Make sure when you go to the FSA office and your insurance agent to report planted acres, you identify all the different crop practices you have this year such as; failed corn to soybeans, prevent plant corn or beans and double crop beans. There is no need paying an insurance premium on a crop that is not insurable. Final reporting date is July 15th.
Also some details are coming out about a disaster payment for those who have crop insurance and had a loss on any crop in 2005 -2006 and wheat for 2007, based on your yield history.
This was in the process before the flood so probably another one will be coming later.
Don’t forget to protect those high priced crops from storms with some economical crop hail insurance from AgriServe.
